APACT 2007 – A Youth Declaration

Executive Summary:
At the 8th APACT Conference in Taipei, Taiwan, a delegation of young representatives, hailing from 14 countries across the Asia Pacific and invited by the Taiwan International Medical Alliance (TIMA), took part in a workshop Asian Youth Against Tobacco (AYAT).


Asian Youth Against Tobacco Advocacy Training Workshop 2007 Agenda
16-17 October 2007

1. To develop youth mentoring skills for building local youth movement for tobacco control (helping youth learn what skills they need and how to gain them).
2. Convince young people that they can play an important, professional role in international tobacco control.
3. Convince youth that working on tobacco control can be fun, worthwhile, and meaningful.
4. Convince senior people in tobacco control organizations of the importance of giving youth positions of importance.
